In its original form, poetry and song were thought to be magical incantations, recited in the spring to ensure a good harvest. Whilst the folklore has adapted, Tallulah Grace remains in pursuit of this feeling, the tangible fascination with a singer-songwriter who can silence a room, make you hold close to your friends, or be connected to a stranger. Her music is focused on careful lyricism and orchestral arrangements, creating a lush, layered quality that welcomes the listener into her world. Blending folk, jazz and pop elements, Grace brings a new voice to the long lineage of indie music.
Born from the Naarm/Melbourne music scene, and since playing festivals around Victoria from Queenscliff to Port Fairy Folk Festival, on the stage she is sure-footed and intentional with every note. Her forthcoming debut album, In The Deep End, draws on narrative, poetry and intricate arrangements to explore love, hope and compassion in the face of disconnection.
